LAURA & THE PALACE

A Bit About ME:
My name is Laura Katergos, I’m 20 years old and currently about to graduate from the visual merchandising program at Sheridan College. I am an aspiring stylist with an art background. I love being in a creative environment and working amongst inspiring role models. I am obsessed with learning new things and love to be challenged.
Interning at Turquoise Palace, I have learned more than I ever thought I could have working in the Real World. I am so grateful for the countless opportunities Tanya and Pamela have given me so far and for making me feel like part of a family.
On the Friday of my first week, Tanya and Pamela mentioned that they wanted to hire a photographer to capture images of some of the newest products that Turquoise Palace will be carrying in the new year. Jumping at the opportunity, I offered to collaborate with a fellow student at Sheridan College, and close friend, James Priolo, to put on a photo shoot ourselves and take the chance to show off my styling skills with these beautiful products!
I have known James for about three years now, and have worked with him on countless of projects together. He is a third year student at Sheridan College for photography, and specializes in product photography.
Together, we transformed his apartment into a studio and spent our night focusing on professional product shots for the website, as well as some more lifestyle shots. As the night went by, we were getting more and more creative with the displays and lighting, showcasing our best work.
The next Sunday morning I woke up inspired by the shoot from the night before, and I decided to take some of the stuff that we photographed and display them in a lifestyle setting around my neighbourhood. I grabbed my camera and took off exploring, experimenting with different locations and sceneries.
I must say, it was a great way to spend my weekend, working with friends for a company that I love!
